The situation in the labor market in Poland is deteriorating, which may complicate the job search for Ukrainians by 2026. Economists predict increased competition for vacancies and a longer employment period due to reduced employer activity. This is reported by inPoland.

Poland's Labor Market 2026: Why Competition is Rising

According to the Polish Statistical Office (GUS), the average salary in the corporate sector in March was 9,652.19 PLN. This is 6.6% higher than last year and 5.7% higher than in February.

At the same time, employment figures are declining:

  • minus 0.9% year-on-year;

  • minus 0.1% compared to the previous month.

PZU economists note that demand for labor remains weak, while salary growth is slowing.

Jobs in Poland: What Changes Await Workers

Experts predict that in the near future, finding a job will become more difficult due to a decrease in the number of new vacancies.

Key trends:

  • increased competition among candidates;

  • longer job search times;

  • slowing salary growth;

  • increased prevalence of non-standard employment forms.

In particular, due to rising costs, employers are more likely to offer civil law contracts or encourage self-employment.

Additional pressure on the economy may come from rising costs associated with international instability, particularly in the Middle East.

Experts emphasize that the labor market has been developing for several years without significant improvement, and this trend is likely to continue. In such conditions, Ukrainians will have to spend more time searching for jobs or adapt to new employment formats.

It is worth noting that new requirements for employers who hire foreigners, including Ukrainians with a CUKR card, are being introduced in Poland.
