The Price of Fashion for Andriy Sadovyi and Kateryna Kit-Sadova

According to Главком: In a conversation with blogger Nicholas Carmi, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi and his wife, Kateryna Kit-Sadova, disclosed the modest prices of their clothing. Sadovyi emphasized his commitment to Ukrainian manufacturers, revealing he has worn the same pair of shoes for three years.

"I've been wearing these shoes for three years now, and then I pass them on to my children. My shirt, well, I think I paid around 1000 hryvnias, maybe a bit more. It's linen. My undergarments are Ukrainian too. Everything is Ukrainian," said Andriy Sadovyi.

Kateryna Kit-Sadova shared that her dress cost approximately 2000 hryvnias and noted that her mother had embroidered a shirt for her.

"It's not a skirt; it's a whole dress I have for 2,000, maybe more. My mother embroidered a shirt for me," said Kateryna Kit-Sadova.

Family Advice and Public Backdrop

During the discussion, Sadovyi also offered advice on marital harmony, stating: "Don't argue with your wives. She starts to provoke you, and you start to answer back – that's already like India-Pakistan. It's impossible to stop. It's better to stay calm, and then your wife will understand she might be wrong."

This interview took place against the somber backdrop of a Russian missile strike on Lviv on March 24, following which Sadovyi publicly apologized to Ukraine's air defenders for previous remarks.

  • "This will be our next scandal because of this," added Kateryna Kit-Sadova, hinting at the potential repercussions of her husband's statements.

Sadovyi's focus on affordable, domestically produced clothing appears to be a deliberate effort to highlight support for the national economy during wartime. Such public disclosures are part of a broader trend where Ukrainian officials aim to project solidarity and relatability. His comments on family dynamics further this attempt to connect with citizens on a personal level, a communication strategy that can significantly influence public perception during periods of social and economic strain.
