Abnormal heatwave: meteorologists in Romania report a peak of up to 43°C
Romania is facing an extreme heatwave, which is intensifying this weekend, July 26-27, reaching its peak in the south and southwest of the country. According to the National Meteorological Administration (ANM), the air temperature is reaching 43°C, and the perceived temperature in some areas may reach 45-46°C, especially in cities. This is reported by 'Glavkom' citing Digi24.
ANM has issued numerous red, orange, and yellow heat warnings and alerts for atmospheric instability. ANM meteorologist Alina Sherban noted that 'the perceived temperature could even reach 45-46°C, especially in urban areas or at ground level.'
Problems after the heat
The publication emphasizes that even after the heat, meteorologists warn of the approach of storms and hail, which could further complicate the situation. Alina Sherban also noted that the heat, which has engulfed almost the entire country, leads to a perceived temperature higher than officially forecasted.
In Romania, the weather has set record-high temperature readings, which has caused extreme conditions and triggered warnings from meteorologists. Even after the heat, the situation may worsen due to the approach of storms and hail, posing a threat to the population. It is necessary to be cautious and follow recommendations regarding extreme weather conditions.
