Infrastructure Attack Leads to Elevated Carbon Monoxide Levels in Lviv Region

Situation in Smilne and Odesa Region

According to Главком: Following an attack on an infrastructure facility in the Zolochiv district on January 27, a temporary spike in carbon monoxide levels was recorded in the village of Smilne, Lviv region. The Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported the incident, confirming that radiation levels in the area remain normal and that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties. This event highlights the environmental hazards that can arise from attacks on civilian infrastructure during wartime.

The Brody City Council has advised residents to keep windows and doors closed and to limit time spent outdoors. People with chronic respiratory or cardiovascular diseases living in Smilne are recommended to stay indoors if possible. If going outside is necessary, the use of a disposable mask is advised, and people should avoid ventilating their homes.

Drone Assault on Odesa Region

Separately, a mass drone attack was reported in the Odesa region, where Russian terrorists carried out more than 50 strikes. These attacks damaged dozens of residential buildings and destroyed a church, a kindergarten, a lyceum, a fitness center, and private vehicles. Large-scale fires broke out at several locations, and in a number of multi-story buildings, dozens of apartments were ruined, with facades damaged and windows blown out.
