Free medical screening from 2026: who will receive 2000 hryvnias for examinations
Free medical screening program in Ukraine
In Ukraine, starting January 1, 2026, a free medical screening program will be introduced for individuals over 40 years old. This initiative provides an opportunity to receive 2000 hryvnias for medical services through the 'Diia.Card' application. A total of 10 billion hryvnias has been allocated for the implementation of the program, which will enable access to important examinations for a large number of citizens.
Everyone who turns 40 will receive a notification in the 'Diia' application 30 days after their birthday. The examination will last from 60 to 90 minutes and include several components:
- Physical examination: measuring blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, waist circumference, and body mass index.
- Survey about lifestyle and screening for symptoms to identify disease risks.
- Laboratory tests: lipid profile, glycated hemoglobin, electrolytes, creatinine, glomerular filtration rate, albumin/creatinine ratio in urine.
- Assessment of mental health using a stress and anxiety questionnaire.
The screening will conclude with a doctor's consultation, during which personalized recommendations regarding cardiovascular disease and diabetes risks will be provided.
Program Objective
This program aims to improve the level of medical care and ensure disease prevention among the population, which is especially important for older adults. With the financial support provided through the 'Diia.Card', citizens will be able to undergo the necessary examinations and receive quality medical services.
The implementation of the medical screening program is an important step towards improving the health of the population, especially for those over 40 years old, who are more vulnerable to various diseases. — Source unknown
This approach will contribute to early detection of diseases, which can reduce the burden on the healthcare system as a whole and improve the quality of life for citizens. The introduction of financial mechanisms through the 'Diia.Card' will also simplify access to medical services and encourage the population to undergo regular examinations.
