According to Главком: A Ukrainian military unit has set a new national benchmark for steadfastness. Fighters from the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade have been recognized for continuously holding their defensive sector near the village of Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast for 1,500 days. This achievement was officially recorded in the “Military Resilience and Defense” category. According to the brigade, this frontline position is one of the longest-held in the Russia-Ukraine war, enduring relentless assaults, artillery fire, and intense combat pressure from Russian forces.
Presidential Visit to the Northern Front
In a separate development, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to Slavutych to meet with local leaders about strengthening defenses in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. During the visit, he announced plans to deploy additional air defense systems to northern communities near the border with Belarus. Zelenskyy stated that Russia views Belarus and its own Bryansk Oblast as staging grounds for further attacks on Ukraine. These measures are designed to bolster regional security and support the country’s overall defensive capabilities.
