The Ukrainian energy sector is suffering from massive missile and drone attacks, which have led to damage to all major thermal and hydroelectric power plants in the country. As a result, Ukraine has ceased electricity exports to other countries. Now all domestic power plants are operating solely for internal consumption, trying to provide electricity for its own citizens.
'As a result of the enemy's attacks, damaged power plants cannot produce enough electricity for all consumer needs, so export is currently not permitted,' the Ministry of Energy's statement notes.
Moreover, during the attacks, energy workers have had to reduce the capacity of the country's nuclear power plants several times for various reasons.
Update in the Ministry
It should also be noted that Artem Nekrasov has been appointed as the acting Minister of Energy. He is now responsible for the sector and must address the crisis situation in the country's energy sector.
