FIFA has included Russians in key committees: details of the decision

According to glavcom.ua: RFU President Alexander Dyukov remains a member of the men's club competitions committee, RFU Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov has joined the committee on football technologies, innovations, and digital transformation. The head of the women's football committee of the RFU, Polina Yumasheva, is on the list of the management, audit committee, and lawyer Larisa Zakharova is in the appeals committee.

The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced that four representatives of the Russian Football Union (RFU) have been included in the updated compositions of the organization's committees and commissions. This was reported by 'Glavkom'.

Dyukov, Mitrofanov, Yumasheva, and Zakharova were elected for a four-year term – until 2029. It should be noted that Russian clubs and national teams have been suspended from participating in competitions under the auspices of UEFA and FIFA since 2022 due to Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

The participation of Russian representatives in the committees and commissions of FIFA indicates a certain restoration of cooperation between the organization and the RFU after the sanctions imposed on Russian football due to political events. This may affect the participation of Russian teams in international competitions and joint work with other countries in the direction of developing football on a global scale.
