Zelensky thanked the defenders of the Ukrainian language: special attention to the occupied territories
President Volodymyr Zelensky on the Day of Ukrainian Literature and Language thanked everyone who does everything possible to preserve and promote the Ukrainian language and culture. This was reported by 'Glavcom' citing Volodymyr Zelensky.
“Today it is important to especially thank all our people who teach the language - regardless of the circumstances. All parents who communicate with their children in Ukrainian. Every teacher who opens up for children the endless world of culture in Ukrainian. Everyone who cares about Ukrainian in Ukraine and abroad,” said Zelensky.
Special words of thanks were expressed by the president to those who have the courage to learn and preserve the language in temporarily occupied territories, as well as to the military.
“And, of course, to all those brave Ukrainian hearts who are loyal to Ukraine and teach Ukrainian even in temporarily occupied territories. To every one of our warriors - because where there are Ukrainian positions, there continues the fight for the life of Ukraine, our people, our culture,” he emphasized.
A reminder of the importance of the Ukrainian language
Zelensky also emphasized the unbreakable connection between national identity and courage: “Let us remember that being Ukrainian is to be brave. There are many nations in the world, but only the brave were able to defend their independence. Ukrainians are just like that. Glory to Ukraine!”.
It is worth noting that today, October 27, the Day of Ukrainian Literature and Language is celebrated, which is an important holiday in Ukraine's cultural life. This holiday is aimed at raising awareness of the importance of the Ukrainian language as the foundation of national identity.
