State Audit Service Scrutinizes Defense Ministry Contracts with Fire Point
Audit Findings on Fire Point's Defense Procurement Agreements
According to Главком: Alla Basalayeva, head of the State Audit Service, has disclosed the results of an audit into contracts between Fire Point and the Defense Procurement Agency. According to Basalayeva, all contract deadlines are being met, goods are being delivered, and payments are being processed as agreed. Some of these contracts are scheduled to run until 2028.
The audit also references recorded conversations released by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) as part of the Midas case. The recordings allegedly feature a discussion between Timur Mindich and Rustem Umerov, who was then serving as Ukraine's Defense Minister. The conversation touches on Fire Point's drone models, including the FP1, FP5, and FP7. Mindich has previously denied being a beneficiary owner of the company.
Alla Basalayeva emphasized: 'We audited Fire Point's contracts with the Defense Procurement Agency. What we found: no deadlines have been missed, goods are being supplied, and payments are being made.'
She added that final conclusions can only be drawn once the contracts are fully completed.
Current State of Business Relations
The audit results released by the State Audit Service indicate that, as of now, the business relationship between Fire Point and the Defense Procurement Agency remains stable, with contract execution proceeding without delays. This may help ease concerns about potential financial irregularities in defense procurement, though the details of the conversations under investigation continue to draw attention from law enforcement agencies.
It is important to note that definitive assessments of the contracts can only be made after their completion, which is expected by 2028.
