Ukrainian Children in Estonia: Action for the Return of Those Abducted by Russia
According to МЗС: As part of the 'Standing with Ukraine' program, a special event called 'Yellow-Blue Butterflies' took place in Tallinn on the occasion of Universal Children's Day. The organizers of the event wanted to remind everyone about Ukrainian children who had been abducted and deported by Russia. This event received support from the Tallinn film festival PÖFF.
The international initiative 'Yellow-Blue Butterflies' calls for short messages to be written to children on yellow and blue sheets, transforming them into symbols of freedom, hope, and dreams of returning home - butterflies. These butterflies are passed on to the children who have already returned home, as well as being kept for those who are still waiting to return.
Participants of the Event and Program
The event was attended by the First Lady of Estonia, Ambassador of Ukraine Volodymyr Boyechko, leaders of Ukrainian institutions and members of the diplomatic corps, the Minister of Defense of Estonia, Estonian ministries, and the Ukrainian community. Guests had the opportunity to enjoy artistic performances by musicians and dancers from Ukraine, watch the short film 'Yellow-Blue Butterflies', and view an exhibition of children's drawings 'Colors that Bring Life Back', created by children who lost their parents due to the war.
The 'Yellow-Blue Butterflies' action became a symbolic gesture of support for Ukrainian children who have become victims of the military conflict in eastern Ukraine. The initiative demonstrated unity and community support in the struggle for freedom and peace.
