Dollar Exchange Rate Forecast in Ukraine

This week, until December 7, a moderate growth of the dollar exchange rate is expected in Ukraine, with the potential to reach the level of 42.3-42.8 UAH. In the cash foreign exchange market, the dollar exchange rate is forecasted within the specified values. The average selling rate on December 3 was 42.5 UAH for banks and 42.32 UAH for currency exchange points.

The demand for currency in Ukraine has somewhat decreased recently. In December 2024, demand exceeded supply by 30-40%, while at present this ratio stands at 15-20%. The difference between buying and selling rates, or the spread, will remain at the level of 0.5-0.6 UAH in banks and 0.6-1 UAH in exchange offices.

Expectations and Recommendations

According to forecasts, exchange rate benchmarks may fluctuate within the range of 43-43.5 UAH per dollar and 49.5-51 UAH per euro. Taras Lesovyi noted that the National Bank keeps the situation under control, timely intervening in the dynamics of the interbank foreign exchange market.
