Dollar exchange rate to the hryvnia on January 19: new maximum
According to the NBU's decision, the official currency rates for January 19 have been set at the following levels:
-
US dollar - 43.41 UAH (compared to 43.39 UAH as of January 16)
-
euro - 50.43 UAH (unchanged compared to January 16)
It is worth noting that the first historical maximum in 2026 for the dollar was recorded on January 6 at 42.42 UAH. Furthermore, the rate has been increasing almost daily: January 7 - up to 42.56 UAH, January 8 - up to 42.71 UAH, January 9 - up to 42.99 UAH.
Official euro rate and currency reserves
The European currency remains at the level of 50.43 UAH, unchanged against the backdrop of the dollar's growth. At the same time, the macro-financial background remains relatively stable. According to the NBU, Ukraine's international reserves increased by 30.8% during 2025 - to 57.3 billion dollars, marking the highest figure in the entire period of independence.
The growth of reserves partially mitigates the pressure on the currency market, but the dollar's record high indicates a continued high volatility.
It is important to remind that financial experts warn against impulsive currency purchases.
