Denis Zhmakov: how a sniper held the position under mortar shelling

Second anniversary of the death of border guard Denis Zhmakov

According to МВС: Denis began his service in November 2021, having completed training as a dog handler and later becoming a sniper. Since June 2023, he has been serving on a contract basis in the 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment 'Steel Border'.

In July of the same year, Denis fought in the Kupiansk-Lyman direction of Kharkiv Oblast. On November 25, 2023, during a mortar shelling, he, along with his comrades, held the position.

During the next shelling, the soldier sustained multiple injuries from shrapnel and was evacuated. Unfortunately, on November 30, 2023, Senior Sergeant Denis Zhmakov died from his injuries.
