The ex-minister Chernyshov's wife files a lawsuit for property division: apartments, cars, and millions in accounts

According to Главком: The wife of ex-minister Oleksiy Chernyshov, Svitlana Chernyshova, has filed a lawsuit for the division of joint property. The claim, consisting of 100 pages, was submitted to the Pechersk District Court on October 20, 2023. In the document, Svitlana requests to recognize her ownership rights to an apartment of 45.9 square meters in Nikopol and a 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser 200. She also expressed a desire to exchange the mentioned property for an apartment of 208.7 square meters in Kyiv.

Funds and Assets

Additionally, Svitlana Chernyshova requests the court to recognize her funds in 21 bank accounts, as well as 4812 securities with a total nominal value of 4.81 million UAH. The lawsuit also mentions funds that were seized by NABU detectives during a search. It is worth noting that Svitlana provided a 10 million UAH bail for her husband Oleksiy Chernyshov, who is currently under investigation.

Oleksiy Chernyshov, in his declaration, indicated the presence of five apartments with a total area of 386 square meters in Kyiv. His bank accounts contain:

• 52.1 million UAH
• 101.6 thousand euros
• 46.2 thousand Swiss francs

At the same time, his wife has:

• 296 thousand UAH
• 3.4 thousand euros
• $3.3 thousand

The Chernyshov family has declared cash:

• $180 thousand
• 90 thousand UAH
• 13.6 thousand euros
• 1 thousand Swiss francs

It should be noted that on June 27, 2023, the High Anti-Corruption Court assigned Oleksiy Chernyshov a bail of 120 million UAH. In mid-November 2023, NABU handed the ex-minister a second suspicion for illegal enrichment. The first ruling in the case related to Svitlana Chernyshova's lawsuit is dated December 22, 2023.

The filing of the lawsuit by Svitlana Chernyshova may indicate the woman's intentions to protect her interests in the context of her husband's legal troubles. Given the size of the bail and the seriousness of the charges faced by the ex-minister, this matter may have lasting consequences for the Chernyshov family.
