Hearn Dismisses Reports of a Joshua-Fury Agreement

According to Главком: Promoter Eddie Hearn has refuted claims that a deal is in place for a fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. Hearn stated that no agreements are currently finalized, clarifying that any discussions took place before a serious car accident involving Joshua. The original plan was for Joshua to face American YouTuber Jake Paul in December 2025 and, following a victory, to then stage a bout in Saudi Arabia before a potential clash with Fury.

A Tragic Accident and a Career Cut Short

Anthony Joshua's last fight was in December 2025, which he won by knockout. However, a tragic event has since altered the boxer's course: a road accident resulted in the deaths of two of his close friends and trainers, Sina Gami and Latif Adoyele. Both men were integral to Joshua's strength and conditioning regimen.

Joshua's uncle, Adeyemola, confirmed the boxer's decision to retire from the sport.

"The main thing is that he has ended his boxing career. We are very happy about that because every time he steps into the ring, we feel intense emotions. Whenever he gets knocked down, it's as if our hearts drop," Adeyemola noted.

Anthony Joshua, a former three-time unified world heavyweight champion, now steps away from the sport with the support of his family and friends. His retirement marks the end of a major era in British boxing, removing one of its most prominent figures from future title contention.

Joshua's withdrawal from boxing significantly impacts the sport's landscape, as he was one of the most famous and successful fighters of his generation. His decision to retire underscores the paramount importance of athlete safety and personal well-being, especially following traumatic life events. This development also forces a reshuffling of plans for other top fighters, including Tyson Fury, who may now need to seek a different marquee opponent for a major event in the near future.
