The government of Ukraine has decided to combine several types of social payments into a new basic assistance to simplify the process of providing state support. This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, noting that the main goal of the new system is to ensure accessible assistance without excessive bureaucracy.

According to the new rules, there is only one type of payment - basic social assistance, which is intended for low-income families, single mothers, and children whose parents do not pay alimony. The application procedure for this assistance has been maximally simplified and is available online through the 'Diia' app.

'It is important for us that every Ukrainian family can quickly and easily receive support from the state,' emphasized the Prime Minister.

The amount of basic assistance will be determined individually, depending on the minimum income per person in the family, which currently amounts to 4,500 hryvnias. The project is being launched in the format of a pilot project for two years with the aim of further transforming it into a permanent support system, and there is already a draft law submitted to parliament.

'We are grateful to our international partners who help us make social services more accessible to people,' concluded Svyrydenko.
