New electricity tariff in Ukraine

From June 1, 2024, a single electricity tariff will be introduced for household consumers in Ukraine at 4.32 UAH per kWh. In addition, owners of dual-zone meters will have the opportunity for discounts due to the night tariff, which will be 2.16 UAH per kWh.

The basic tariff for electricity will apply from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, while the night tariff is in effect from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. For owners of dual-zone meters, this means potential significant savings. With consumption:

  • 200 kWh per month — savings will be about 130 UAH;
  • 500 kWh — up to 324 UAH;
  • 1000 kWh — approximately 648 UAH.

The cost of installing a dual-zone meter in DTEK Kyiv Electrical Networks starts from 4,000 UAH. The most popular models of dual-zone meters are GAMA, NIK, and MTX. Ukrainians have the opportunity to take advantage of these innovations to reduce their electricity costs.

Impact of the new tariff on consumers

The introduction of a single tariff and opportunities for owners of dual-zone meters create new financial conditions for consumers in Ukraine. The lower tariff for night consumption may encourage people to change their habits, which in turn can reduce the load on the electrical networks during peak hours. This can also affect the electricity market and energy-saving strategies in the country.
