Export Credit Agency Boosts Exporters

According to Мін. Економіки: During January–July 2026, the Export Credit Agency (ECA) – Ukraine's official export-credit insurer – helped secure UAH 8.69 billion worth of non-raw-material exports. This support came through insurance coverage for 52 export transactions involving 38 Ukrainian companies. Businesses from the Khmelnytskyi region delivered the largest contribution, with Kyiv and the Zhytomyr region following behind.

More specifically, the Khmelnytskyi region accounted for UAH 4.61 billion in supported exports, while Kyiv contributed UAH 929.05 million and the Zhytomyr region UAH 591.59 million. The insured goods reached 28 countries worldwide, with the most prominent markets being:

  • Germany
  • Sweden
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Netherlands
  • Poland

The furniture industry generated the largest share of the supported exports, totaling UAH 4.61 billion. ECA's operations are part of the broader "Made in Ukraine" initiative designed to strengthen domestic manufacturers. For each hryvnia of insurance liability undertaken by the agency, UAH 11.82 in exports received backing.

Ukraine's Export Momentum

These numbers point to encouraging developments in Ukraine's export sector, especially within the furniture industry, which remains a vital component of the national economy. ECA's assistance helps Ukrainian producers access international markets, a key step for economic revitalization and growth after recent external shocks.

The diversity of destination countries also highlights Ukraine's expanding trade relationships across the global stage.

While the Export Credit Agency's support bolsters Ukraine's non-raw exports, external threats continue to pose challenges for the country's agricultural sector. Recent attacks on civilian shipping highlight the vulnerabilities faced by Ukrainian grain exports, emphasizing the need for robust protection measures to ensure the stability of the entire export market.
