The Presidents of Ukraine and the USA are speaking
Зустріч Зеленського та Трампа в ООН: обговорення мирного процесу та підтримки України.

In the corridors of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 23, 2025, a meeting was held between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump. This is already the fourth personal meeting between the leaders of the states this year. Before the negotiations began, a joint press conference was held, where several important statements were made regarding the situation in Ukraine and the US position in the war. President Trump expressed support for Ukraine, emphasizing the country's successes in deterring Russian aggression, but at the same time was not confident about a quick end to the war. He also supported NATO countries' right to defend their airspace in the event of an invasion by Russian aircraft. Regarding trust in Putin and influence over Hungarian leader Orban, Trump left the questions open. Zelensky shared the successes of the military operation, noting the reconnaissance of over 1000 Russian troops. Trump's previous remarks about a possible deal between Zelensky and Putin and the necessity to stop Europe’s purchases of Russian oil provided grounds for an interesting discussion during the meeting in New York.
