Former Odessa Mayor Trukhanov appeals home arrest: what is known about the case
Former Odessa mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov has appealed the court's decision on round-the-clock home arrest in the case of official negligence. This was reported by the suspect's lawyer Oleksandr Lysyak, as reported by 'Glavcom' referring to 'Suspilne'.
The appellate court has not yet scheduled a hearing date.
Under house arrest
It should be recalled that former Odessa mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov will remain under round-the-clock home arrest. He is also required to wear an electronic bracelet. This decision was made by the Pechersk court of Kyiv on October 31.
As reported, the Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko announced suspicion against the former Odessa mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov due to the deaths of nine people in the city on September 30. According to the investigation, the former official inadequately performed his official duties and failed to ensure the proper functioning of the city's engineering networks.
Later, Hennadiy Trukhanov stated that the suspicion announced against him for official negligence came as a 'surprise' to him.
