Expert refutes rumors of forced return of men from the EU: explanation

Does the EU have the right to send Ukrainian men to fight?
Спеціаліст спростовує чутки про примусове повернення чоловіків з Європи: деталі і пояснення ситуації.

Rumors are circulating in society about a possible forced return of Ukrainian men from Europe to serve in Ukraine. However, foreign policy expert Lukash Adamski dismisses these rumors, noting that the European Union has no mechanisms for this. He also emphasized that the statements of Polish ex-prime minister Leszek Miller about sending Ukrainians back home to participate in combat actions should be treated cautiously.

Lukash Adamski suggested that Leszek Miller may be attempting to promote himself or blackmail someone with his statements, so it is important not to consider them official.

So far, there is no legal possibility for the return of Ukrainian men who have temporary protection in the EU to Ukraine for military conscription. This is only possible with the support of the entire EU, but the likelihood of such a decision is very low, according to the expert.

Increase in the number of Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic

In recent months, the number of Ukrainian refugees seeking temporary protection in the Czech Republic has significantly increased. According to the Czech Ministry of the Interior, the issuance of temporary protection permits has almost doubled, reaching a record high. Currently, the total number of Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic exceeds 400 thousand people.

Ukrainian men with temporary protection in Europe will not be returning home for military service. This information was confirmed by foreign policy expert Lukash Adamski, emphasizing the lack of relevant mechanisms in the European Union for such a return. He also noted that Leszek Miller’s statements regarding the possibility of sending Ukrainians back to their homeland for military participation should be treated with caution, as the politician is on the political margins in Poland. It should be noted that to date, there is no legal possibility to send Ukrainians back to their homeland for military service, and such a decision is only possible with the support of all EU countries.
