eRecovery: one co-owner can now apply for housing compensation

Housing compensation in Ukraine
eRecovery: один із співвласників може тепер подати заявку на отримання компенсації за житло.

Simplifying the application process for the eRecovery program

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a resolution that simplifies the application process for the eRecovery program. From now on, one of the co-owners of the property can apply for compensation without the need to obtain the consent of other co-owners. This innovation aims to expedite compensation payments and ease access to assistance for those affected.

An important aspect is that the absence of consent from one of the co-owners will no longer block the compensation payment process. An application submitted by one co-owner is considered to be submitted on behalf of all co-owners of the property. This decision aims to reduce bureaucratic barriers and simplify the procedure for those who have suffered damages.

Results of housing programs and instructions for the affected

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development has already agreed on the results of housing programs for 2024-2025. The budget for the compensation program for destroyed housing is 200 million euros. According to information, 2,290 families have already purchased new housing using eRecovery housing certificates. In particular, more than 1,500 families have taken advantage of the certificates from the second phase HOME-2. In total, assistance for housing purchases is planned to be provided to over 3,600 families. Additionally, more than 29,700 families have received compensation for destroyed housing.

For those who have faced repeated damage to their housing, there is a clear instruction. To apply in case of repeated damage, it is necessary to:

  • open the 'Repair Report'
  • check the box 'Property was damaged again'
  • submit a new notification

These steps will help the affected receive the necessary assistance in the shortest possible time.

Changes in the application procedure for the eRecovery program can significantly ease the lives of many Ukrainian families affected by the war. Simplifying the process will allow for quicker compensation payments, which is an important step in restoring housing conditions for people who have lost their property. Support from the state under this program can become critically important for many families seeking to rebuild their homes and return to normal life.
