Trump’s Peace Council Fund Receives Zero Dollars Despite Pledges
Funding the Peace Council
According to Главком: The Peace Council Fund, established by U.S. President Donald Trump, has not received any financial backing. Although several countries promised to contribute 17 billion dollars to the Council, the funds have yet to reach the organization. This situation raises serious doubts about the feasibility of the ambitious goals announced at the Council’s inaugural meeting. On January 21, 2026, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Vladimir Putin proposed allocating 1 billion dollars from frozen Russian assets held in the United States. However, Russia’s diplomatic note sent to the U.S. State Department has gone unanswered.
During a Peace Council session held in Washington, Donald Trump announced a 10 billion dollar allocation for the Council’s operations. Trump emphasized that the Peace Council could potentially replace the United Nations. Yet, to date, not a single dollar has been deposited into the organization’s accounts, causing concern among those hoping for its effectiveness.
“Not a single dollar has been credited,” noted a source speaking to the Financial Times.
This funding gap casts doubt on the Peace Council’s ability to carry out its stated objectives, including:
- disarming Hamas,
- withdrawing Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip,
- rebuilding the war-torn region.
The lack of financial resources challenges the realism of the plans outlined during the Peace Council’s first meeting.
Maria Zakharova also pointed out that Russia “offered concrete money and stated its priorities: funds should go toward rebuilding the Gaza Strip and basic social infrastructure.” However, without proper funding, these initiatives may remain only on paper.
The absence of financing for the Peace Council undermines its capacity to fulfill core tasks, particularly in restoring affected regions. It may also highlight difficulties in international cooperation and the need for more coordinated efforts among participating states to achieve set goals. Amid global political instability, it is crucial that initiatives aimed at strengthening peace receive tangible financial support to become a reality.
