France has lifted all restrictions on Pavel Durov: what does it mean
According to glavcom.ua: French investigators have completely lifted restrictions on the movement of Pavel Durov, the CEO of Telegram, who was detained in France in 2024. After four days of detention, posting bail, and exit restrictions from the country, Durov can now freely travel and leave the territory of France.
Prior to this, the restrictions were somewhat eased in June, allowing short-term trips to Dubai, and in early November, they were completely lifted. The French authorities rejected Durov's request to travel to the USA, and relations between him and the French intelligence have become even more strained after his accusations of attempts to block channels on Telegram.
Pavel Durov was allowed to leave France in March 2025, and he is already in Dubai. The lifting of the movement restrictions was a step towards easing the tension between him and the French authorities.
