Tennis player banned for 20 years for violating anti-corruption program

According to glavcom.ua: French tennis player Quentin Fojo was banned from the sport for 20 years for committing 27 violations of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program. The 26-year-old athlete was named 'the central figure in a network of players acting on behalf of a match-fixing syndicate.'

According to the investigation, which brought 30 charges, 27 of them were confirmed. Among the allegations were collusion to influence match outcomes, receiving 'corrupt payments', offering bribes to other players, and obstructing the investigation.

“The ITIA case is based on hypotheses”

Independent anti-corruption officer Amani Khalifa issued the harshest penalty: a ban of 20 years, a fine of $70,000, and the return of $44,000 received improperly. All these restrictions will last until May 2044.

Fojo became the sixth person punished as a result of this investigation. Experts discovered 58 potentially fixed matches in May of this year, including football, esports, and basketball.
