According to glavcom.ua: Dmitry Kurbatov, General Director of the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia, suddenly found himself on the 'Peacemaker' list. The news was published on the 'Glavkom' website.

It is noted that he is considered an accomplice to the crimes of the Russian authorities against Ukraine and its citizens, as well as a promoter of war propaganda.

Participation in propaganda event

Kurbatov participated in the international sports forum 'Russia – a Sports State', which took place in Samara and Tolyatti from November 5 to 7.

At the event, along with Kurbatov, representatives of Russian occupation structures in Ukrainian regions participated, such as the 'Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Crimea', 'Ministry of Sports of Kherson Region', 'Ministry of Sports of LPR', 'Ministry of Sports and Tourism of Zaporizhia Region', and 'Ministry of Sports and Tourism of DPR'.

Criticism and reaction of athletes

Among the other participants of the event was the Russian speed skater Alexandra Sautina, who was present at the annual address to the Federal Assembly by Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

'Participation in such events is a gross violation of the IOC recommendations regarding neutral athletes,' they note in sports circles.

The 2026 Olympics will take place from February 6 to 22 in Italy.
