The experience of mountain rescuer Mykhailo Slyvka

According to ДСНС: Mountain rescuer Mykhailo Slyvka, a paramedic from the Medical Support and Assistance Department of the ARZ SP of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Transcarpathian region, shared his experience working with mountain rescuers, which has been ongoing since 2012. He emphasized the importance of rescuing people in the mountains, as well as discussed the specifics of search and rescue operations. According to him, the active phase of searching can last up to five days, highlighting the seriousness of the situation when tourists find themselves in trouble.

Call to safety

Slyvka also urged everyone planning to visit mountainous areas to register with the mountain search and rescue service. He noted that registration is a fundamental concern for one's own safety.

In addition, for the convenience of tourists, a mobile application 'Rescue in the Mountains' has been developed, which is mandatory to use while in the mountains. Slyvka also noted that rescuing people in the mountains is no less important than extinguishing fires or dealing with other dangerous situations. These words reflect the seriousness and responsibility with which mountain rescuers approach their work.

The experience of Mykhailo Slyvka and his call for tourists to register with the mountain rescue service highlight the importance of safety when visiting mountainous areas.
