Deep Rear Under Threat: Why the Kremlin Canceled the Navy Parade
According to hvylya.net: The Center for Strategic Communications reported that the cancellation of the main naval parade on Navy Day in St. Petersburg indicates the effectiveness of Ukraine's long-range capabilities.
The parade was canceled for the first time since 2017 for security reasons. The Center believes that this decision reflects the Kremlin's fear regarding Ukraine's ability to carry out long-range strikes on Russian territory.
Real State of the Russian Navy
Experts suggest that the cancellation of the parade may be an attempt to mask the real state of the Russian Navy, which has suffered significant losses in the war with Ukraine. Ukrainian forces have destroyed a substantial part of the ships in the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation.
- Flagship Cruiser 'Moscow'.
- Corvette 'Sergey Kotov'.
- Large Landing Ship 'Cesar Kunikov'.
These strikes have significantly reduced the naval capabilities of the Russian occupiers in the Black Sea. Moreover, Russia is currently unable to restore its fleet in wartime conditions. Even the aircraft carrier 'Admiral Kuznetsov' has been scrapped, indicating serious problems in maintaining the combat readiness of naval forces.
According to the Center for Strategic Communications, the cancellation of the naval parade in Russia may be a sign of the Kremlin's fear of Ukrainian military forces, as well as an attempt to launch a negative information campaign aimed at masking the real losses in the Russian Navy due to the conflict with Ukraine.
