In Odesa, the integration of IDPs was discussed: what new services will be introduced for people
Tetyana Kiriienko visited Odesa to discuss integration for internally displaced persons. Meetings with representatives of state institutions, communities, and international organizations at the 'Cities of Solidarity' forum allowed for a discussion on approaches to the integration of IDPs and the development of social services.
There are over 200 thousand internally displaced persons in the region, of which more than 135 thousand are in Odesa. Tetyana Kiriienko emphasized the importance of expanding services for the elderly and disabled individuals, supported by the Ministry of Social Policy and proposed for implementation by communities.
'Creating centers similar to these is an effective format for receiving comprehensive assistance: from social and psychological support to documenting cases of violence related to the war.'
During her visit, Tetyana Kiriienko held meetings with the heads of social protection departments, visited temporary accommodation places for IDPs, and got acquainted with the work of the Social Integration Club for the Elderly 'Rika' and the Center for Social and Integration Services.
As part of the Southern Ukrainian forum 'Cities of Solidarity,' Tetyana Kiriienko discussed the importance of expanding social services for internally displaced persons. The Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity emphasized the significance of integrating and supporting vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and disabled. Such measures can contribute to the establishment of effective points for receiving assistance and supporting difficult situations, particularly those related to the military conflict.
