Ukraine Weather Forecast for June 6

According to Главком: On June 6, Ukraine will experience partly cloudy skies with sunny breaks. Moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in western and central regions, with some areas seeing significant precipitation. This forecast comes from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center. The rest of the country will remain mostly dry, with variable cloud cover.

Rain and thunderstorms are predicted for several western regions, as well as during the day in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, and Chernivtsi oblasts. Fog may develop overnight and in the morning in Zakarpattia and the Carpathian region. Winds will be light and variable, blowing at 3–8 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from 14 to 19°C, while daytime highs across Ukraine will reach 24–29°C, with western areas slightly cooler at 20–25°C.

Kyiv Weather and Hydrological Warning

In Kyiv, skies will also be partly cloudy: no precipitation is expected overnight, but moderate to locally heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely during the day. Winds in the capital will be variable at 3–8 m/s. Overnight temperatures in Kyiv will be 17–19°C, warming to 26–28°C in the afternoon.

A hydrological warning has been issued for June 6–8 concerning rising water levels on the left tributaries of the Dniester River in Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia oblasts. Water levels are forecast to rise by 0.2–0.7 meters, though no negative consequences are expected. However, areas experiencing intense local downpours may see significant surface runoff.

June in Ukraine began with changeable weather patterns. Cool Scandinavian air masses have given way to warmer air flowing in from Western Europe. The weather outlook for June 1–7, 2026, points to rain, thunderstorms, and temperature fluctuations. Meanwhile, Europe is seeing record summer heat, while Ukraine remains largely unaffected by these temperature extremes.

This weather situation highlights the typical instability of early summer in Ukraine, where the clash of cold and warm air masses creates conditions ripe for thunderstorms and rain. Rising river levels may require monitoring of the hydrological situation, especially regarding potential local flooding. Such weather events-including thunderstorms and heavy rain-can have both beneficial and harmful effects on crops and infrastructure across different regions of Ukraine.

As the weather in Ukraine continues to shift, it's important to stay informed about upcoming conditions. Following the forecast for June 6, you might want to review the recent updates on rain and thunderstorms expected earlier this month, which could provide insight into the current weather patterns and their potential impact on the region.
