Всесвітнє керівництво з сертифікації для фахівців у сфері управління персоналом: шляхи HRCI та AIHR

The Role of HRCI and AIHR in Developing HR Professionals

According to AIHR: Two key organizations, the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Academy to Innovate HR (AIHR), are central to the training and credentialing of human resources professionals worldwide. Founded in 1973, HRCI is a non-profit that offers eight globally recognized certifications, all accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). AIHR, established in 2016 in Rotterdam, operates as an online learning platform for HR specialists and is also an approved provider of courses for HRCI. For English-speaking professionals, these bodies represent the gold standard for validating HR expertise and career advancement.

Certification Programs and Requirements

Since 1976, HRCI has administered certification exams and now boasts over 126,000 active certificate holders across more than 100 countries. HRCI certifications are valid for three years, with exam fees ranging from $400 to $595 USD. The institute's portfolio includes:

  • Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR)
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
  • Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR)
  • aPHRi
  • PHRi
  • SPHRi
  • Professional in Human Resources, California (PHRca)

Experience requirements vary: for the PHR, one to four years are needed depending on education level, while the SPHR requires four to seven years based on role. Recertification demands 60 credits for PHR, SPHR, and GPHR, and 45 credits for aPHR and aPHRi. A key rule introduced in January 2021 mandates that all certificate holders earn at least one ethics credit. HRCI also provides access to over 220 courses through its HRCI Learning Center, available for 180 days post-purchase.

Founded by Erik van Vulpen and Nando Steenhuis, AIHR serves more than 85,000 HR professionals in over 180 countries. The platform features 16 certification programs and over 85 courses covering diverse HR domains such as analytics, HR business partnering, learning and development, talent acquisition, organizational development, and total rewards. Its status as an approved HRCI course provider underscores a collaborative effort to elevate professional standards across the industry.

In early 2025, HRCI plans to launch HRCI ENGAGE, a free online community, highlighting the organization's commitment to supporting and developing HR talent globally. These initiatives underscore the growing critical importance of formal certification and continuous learning for HR professionals.

Certification and professional development are becoming increasingly vital in human resources as organizations worldwide seek to recruit and retain qualified specialists.

The programs from HRCI and AIHR not only enhance the skill level of HR practitioners but also promote standardized practices across the field. The forthcoming launch of the HRCI ENGAGE community could mark a significant step in building a global professional network and facilitating knowledge exchange among specialists.
