After Success with Rukh, Ivan Fedyk Takes the Helm at Ternopil's Nyva
Coaching Change at Nyva Ternopil
According to Главком: Ivan Fedyk, 38, has been appointed as the new head coach of Nyva Ternopil, replacing Oleh Dulub, who departed the club in May. Fedyk previously managed Lviv-based Rukh, where he led the team to promotion into the Ukrainian Premier League. Following the season's conclusion, he negotiated an early end to his contract with Rukh, where he also worked within the club's structure and focused on developing young players.
Club Situation
Last season, Nyva Ternopil finished 12th in the Ukrainian First League standings. In the final round of the Ukrainian Premier League, Rukh lost 0–2 to Zhytomyr's Polissya, ending the season in 14th place. This result means the club will not participate in promotion-relegation playoffs and will compete in the Second League next season.
Rukh president Hryhoriy Kozlovsky confirmed that 42 players born between 2007 and 2009 will remain with the squad, and six players born in 2010 will be added. This will form a roster for the U-19 team aimed at winning the championship in the upcoming season.
The club's statement expressed support for the new coach: 'We wish Ivan Fedyk strong results, team development, and productive collaboration with FC Nyva Ternopil.'
With this appointment, Nyva hopes to achieve new milestones under Fedyk, who brings experience working with young footballers and a track record of professional success.
This coaching change at Nyva Ternopil marks a significant step as the club seeks fresh approaches to improve its performance in future seasons. Fedyk's background in youth development could inject innovative ideas into the team's growth, especially given its ambition to move up the divisions. After a challenging season, the new manager may prove pivotal in revitalizing the squad and driving better results going forward.
