Funding for Portable Power Stations for Families with Disabled Children

According to Главком: The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has approved funding to purchase 2,000 portable power stations for families with children in disability subgroup A. This initiative is a critical step in ensuring energy independence and safety for children whose lives directly depend on a continuous electricity supply. This move follows a previous program that financed the purchase and delivery of 10,000 stations with a capacity of 2 kWh, highlighting the growing need for such devices amid ongoing energy instability.

Increase in Budget Allocation

The share of budget funds from the State Decarbonization Fund that can be directed toward purchasing and delivering these portable stations has been increased to 30%. Yuliia Svyrydenko stated,

"We have decided to increase to 30% the share of budget funds from the State Decarbonization and Energy-Efficient Transformation Fund that can be directed to the purchase and delivery of such devices. This will allow us to expand the program and provide assistance to more families."

The equipment procurement is handled by JSC 'Decarbonization Fund of Ukraine', while delivery is managed by JSC 'Ukrposhta'.

Applications for the portable power stations can be submitted through the territorial bodies of the Pension Fund of Ukraine until April 1, 2026. Yuliia Svyrydenko further emphasized,

"Portable stations will be provided to children whose lives directly depend on electricity. During power outages, they face a real threat to their health and lives."

This initiative aims to improve living conditions for children with disabilities and their families during challenging energy circumstances. The program is part of a broader government strategy to address energy security for vulnerable populations.

This project forms part of the government's wider strategy to ensure energy security in a context of unstable power supply. Providing these charging stations to families with disabled children underscores the priority of supporting vulnerable groups, a critical concern during energy crises. The expansion of the program also reflects a growing focus on inclusion and social equity within Ukraine's national policies.

As the government continues its efforts to support families with children facing health challenges, understanding how to access essential resources becomes crucial. For those particularly impacted by energy shortages, the state program for children with medical implants provides guidance on obtaining charging stations during blackouts, ensuring that vulnerable groups can maintain their necessary medical care during power outages.
