The government of Ukraine has changed the conditions for the payment of monetary assistance to certain categories of citizens. Now this assistance will be provided to persons who have special merits to the country and participated in the defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as to family members of deceased citizens with special merits. An important innovation is the expansion of the list of persons entitled to receive this assistance, including those who have been awarded the 'Cross of Military Merit'.

Clear requirements have also been established for the documents that confirm the status of the assistance recipient. The changes include the possibility of using information from the Unified State Register of War Veterans for cooperation with the Pension Fund without the need to submit paper documents.

  • certificate of participation in events to ensure the defense of Ukraine in the context of military aggression from the Russian Federation.

Citizens who have been awarded the 'Cross of Military Merit' will receive a monthly payment equal to 1.5 minimum wage, which currently amounts to 12 thousand hryvnias.
