Dismissal of Roman Isayenko
According to Главком: The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made a decision to dismiss Roman Isayenko from the position of head of the State Service of Ukraine for Medicines and Drug Control. This decision was made on January 7, 2026, and was due to a negative assessment of Isayenko's official activities in 2025.
Roman Isayenko had been serving as the head of the State Service for Medicines and Drug Control since 2024. During his tenure, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted searches at the main office of the service, which may have affected the evaluation of his work. In light of these events, the Cabinet of Ministers also initiated disciplinary proceedings against Isayenko.
Performance of duties and future of the service
After the dismissal, the performance of the duties of the head of the State Service has been assigned to Volodymyr Korolenko. This decision by the Cabinet indicates serious problems in the functioning of the state service that require urgent resolution.
The dismissal of Roman Isayenko highlights the relevance of transparency and efficiency in the work of state bodies in Ukraine. The steps taken by the Cabinet of Ministers may indicate intentions to strengthen control over the activities of services, especially in the context of the fight against corruption.
It is important for Isayenko's successor, Volodymyr Korolenko, to be able to respond promptly to existing problems and ensure stability in the service responsible for regulating an important area of healthcare.
