According to Главком: Since the beginning of 2026, a total of 6,793 residents of Kyiv have received financial assistance amounting to 190 million UAH (approximately $4.7 million) for housing damaged or destroyed by Russian shelling. These payments are made under the city program 'Turbota. Towards Kyivites.' The highest number of applications for aid followed attacks on May 24, June 2, and June 15. This initiative is part of broader efforts to support civilians affected by ongoing hostilities in Ukraine's capital.
The information about the aid distribution was provided by Maryna Khonda, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration. Affected individuals can receive a one-time payment of either 10,000 or 40,000 UAH. Additionally, monthly rental compensation of 20,000 UAH is provided to 111 people. Currently, 140 rental assistance applications are under review. Since the start of the year, nearly 6,800 Kyiv residents have benefited from various forms of aid.
Claims and Payment Amounts
Following the attack on the night of May 24, 1,365 residents filed claims, with 1,294 receiving payments totaling over 19 million UAH. After the June 2 attack, 1,080 Kyiv residents applied, and 1,032 received payments exceeding 10.6 million UAH. Following the strike on the night of June 15, 514 claims were submitted, with 224 people receiving aid totaling 2.24 million UAH.
The highest number of applications came from residents of the following districts:
- Holosiivskyi
- Shevchenkivskyi
- Sviatoshynskyi
- Solomianskyi
As a result of the attack on the night of May 24, 432 residential buildings were damaged in the capital, with the Shevchenkivskyi district suffering the most damage, affecting 262 buildings.
“Support is provided under the city program 'Turbota. Towards Kyivites,'” said Maryna Khonda.
