According to УНІАН — Туризм: On September 3, a bronze replica of the Tithe Church bell was unveiled beside the National Museum of History of Ukraine. The original bell, once installed in the church's belfry, was destroyed during the Mongol-Tatar invasion of 1240. The last time residents of Kyiv heard it was in December 1240, as the city was being devastated.

The original artifact was discovered in the 1930s during archaeological excavations at the Tithe Church site. About 60 percent of it has survived, but its clapper is entirely gone. After modern research methods made it possible to examine the ancient bell closely, a copy was cast in the Netherlands. Its sound matches what would have rung over Kyiv more than 700 years ago.
