Kyiv faces constant power outages: expert named the reason

The residents of Kyiv are threatened by constant power outages due to shelling, warned the head of the Consumers' Union of Utility Services Oleg Popenko. He noted that after the missile strike on the city, the situation with power outages became critical, and each new raid only worsens the situation. If the shelling continues, Kyiv residents may witness constant power outages in their homes.

'If the shelling continues and the Russians repeat one or two full-scale raids within a certain period, we should talk about the fact that outages in the homes of Kyiv residents will be constant. Currently, they are just emergency outages, but emergency outages will transition into permanent schedules,' Popenko emphasized.

The expert pointed out that it is also necessary to pay attention to the state of the thermal networks in the capital, as a large number of pipes are in emergency condition, and repairs are not progressing at a sufficiently fast pace. This could lead to further escalation of the energy crisis in Kyiv.
