According to glavcom.ua: Deputy head of the GUR of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Vadym Skibitsky stated that real negotiations to end the war with Russia are only possible in 2026. This became known during his interview for Novyny.LIVE, reports 'Glavkom'.

In February 2025, General Budanov, head of intelligence, hoped that the war could end by the end of this year. However, according to him, Russia is currently actively preparing for a winter military campaign, as it plans to continue the war to seize new Ukrainian territories.

«In 2025, there were certain preconditions for ending the war by the end of the year, but now these plans are no longer relevant», - explained the deputy head of the GUR.

He added that real negotiations are only possible next year, depending on how the Ukrainian government is functioning.

«In 2026, real negotiations about a true end to the war are possible. We will see based on the results of our politicians' work», - noted Vadym Skibitsky.

It is important to note that the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kyrylo Budanov warned that the coming years in Ukraine will not be completely peaceful, and Ukrainians should prepare for various challenges.
