NABU uncovered a corruption scheme in Chornomorshlyakh: how the fleet base was stolen
NABU, together with SAP, detected a corruption scheme in the state enterprise 'Chornomorshlyakh', where losses of property and illegal spending of funds were significant. The investigation showed that the acting head of the enterprise organized the sale of the fleet maintenance base, violating the law on the moratorium on the alienation of property. The appraiser artificially underestimated the value of the object, allowing accomplices to acquire it illegally. After that, the assets were legalized and the funds were used for service needs unrelated to the activities of the enterprise.
NABU and SAP have already notified four participants in the scheme of suspicion, two of whom have been detained. This case once again highlights the existence of corruption in the maritime transport sector, which leads to losses for the state budget and violates the laws of the country.
