Cryptocurrencies in the declarations of Ukrainian officials increased by 10% over the year
In 2024, Ukrainian officials submitted more than 2,100 declarations with cryptocurrency.
This is 2.2 times more than before the full-scale invasion; the most popular cryptocurrencies remain Tether (USDT), Bitcoin (BTC, XBT), and Ethereum (ETH), reports Opendatabot.
It is noted that over the year, such declarations increased by 10%.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies, particularly within the National Police of Ukraine, are the most active in declaring cryptocurrencies - 322 declarations mentioning cryptocurrency, which constitutes 15% of all such declarants.
In the prosecutor's office, cryptocurrency is mentioned in 240 declarations. Judges submitted 227 such documents, while 119 officials with digital assets are from city councils. Among representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, cryptocurrency appeared in 77 declarations. In 38 cases, cryptocurrency was declared by representatives of the NABU.
Regarding the geography of crypto declarations, Kyiv and the region lead with 582 and 185 officials with cryptocurrencies, Kharkiv region - 172 civil servants, Dnipropetrovsk region - 167, and Lviv region - 133 declarants with cryptocurrency.
Officials most often declare Tether (USDT) - 802 civil servants. Bitcoin (BTC, XBT), despite all fluctuations, consistently ranks second - 731 declarations. Ethereum (ETH) was declared by 713 officials.
The largest number of bitcoins was declared by Oleg Bondarenko, Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Environmental Policy - 80 BTC, which as of April 1 equals 279.4 million UAH.
In the category of Ethereum (ETH), the leader is MP Serhiy Mazel - he owns 200 tokens equivalent to 15.5 million UAH. The record for the number of Tether dollars belongs to Vitaliy Brovko, head of the Department of the Office of the Prosecutor General - his declaration includes 847,908 USDT, estimated at 35 million UAH.
In Ukraine, the number of declarations indicating the presence of cryptocurrency has significantly increased. The most popular cryptocurrencies among officials remain Tether, Bitcoin, and Ethereum, which were declared in 2,100 declarations. Compared to previous years, this number has increased by 10%. Representatives of law enforcement agencies are more active than others in declaring the presence of digital assets, particularly in the National Police of Ukraine. The largest number of declarations was submitted in Kyiv and the region, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Lviv.
