Sophia Klak’s Outstanding Performance on the NMT

According to Главком: A graduate from Lviv Lyceum No. 81 named after Petro Sahaidachny, Sophia Klak, has accomplished a remarkable feat by earning the highest possible score across three subjects on Ukraine’s National Multi-Subject Test (NMT). She achieved a perfect 200 points each in English, mathematics, and the history of Ukraine. The 2026 edition of the NMT is widely regarded as more challenging than its predecessors, building on the legacy of the External Independent Evaluation (ZNO), which was first introduced in 2008.

Challenges and Preparation

The Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment (UCEQA) is responsible for developing and administering the NMT. Test-takers have reported experiencing significant psychological pressure during the exam, along with the unique nature of the questions. This highlights the considerable hurdles students must overcome in their preparation for this assessment.

“Behind this success lie years of study, thousands of learned words, dozens of completed tests, persistent effort, support from teachers and family, and a strong determination to reach one’s goal.”

Like the ZNO before it, the NMT evaluates graduates’ knowledge across multiple subjects and their analytical abilities, making it a critical milestone in preparing for university admissions.

Sophia Klak’s achievement underscores the high level of preparation and resilience among Ukrainian students, especially in the face of the new challenges posed by the NMT. This test not only assesses academic knowledge but also fosters critical thinking and analytical skills, which are essential for success in higher education. The results of the NMT can significantly influence students’ future career choices and professional paths.

As students navigate the challenges of the National Multi-Subject Test, many have faced significant obstacles such as the psychological toll of the exam and external factors like shelling. This has led to the possibility for graduates to reschedule their testing dates, ensuring they can perform at their best despite these pressures. Such measures highlight the resilience required in these unprecedented times.
