According to ХВИЛЯ: Russian forces launched a large-scale assault using missiles and drones against the Kyiv region overnight and into the morning of February 22. The attack, which struck civilian areas, resulted in one fatality and left 12 people wounded. Damage was reported in five separate districts of the region, specifically:
- Fastiv
- Bucha
- Brovary
- Boryspil
- Obukhiv
This latest barrage is part of a sustained campaign targeting Ukrainian cities and infrastructure, often timed to coincide with significant dates.
Detailed Impact Across the Districts
In the Fastiv district, specifically in the village of Putrivka, five private homes were destroyed. A 49-year-old man was killed there, and eight people, including one child, were rescued from the rubble. Five of the injured from this district required hospitalization.
The Bucha district also suffered significant losses, with three private homes completely destroyed and two more houses and a car damaged. One man was freed from debris in this area.
In the Brovary district, ten units in a garage cooperative and 12 cars were damaged. A fire ignited by the attack was extinguished by 08:00.
The Boryspil district saw one private home destroyed, and a woman was injured by shattered glass. Separately, a farm building caught fire, but the blaze was contained by morning.
Warehouse facilities and a private home were damaged in the Obukhiv district.
