According to Главком: On December 25, weather balloons from Belarus penetrated the airspace of Poland, transporting smuggled cigarettes. The Polish police in Podlasie seized over 4 thousand packs of illegal cigarettes in three locations. In particular, 2 thousand packs were found in Zaborow, 2 thousand packs in Goniondz, and 30 packs of cigarettes in Bogushevo.
Increased tension at the border
This incident occurs against the backdrop of increased border control with Belarus. Polish military also recorded a Russian military aircraft over the Baltic Sea, signaling activity in the region's airspace.
