Andrii Sybiga's visit to Sumy region

According to МЗС: On January 2, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga and his wife Tetiana Sybiga made a working visit to the Sumy region. During their visit, they attended schools, military units, and medical institutions, discussing issues related to supporting children and implementing medical projects.

Andrii Sybiga visited a school in the village of Bobryk, where a computer classroom was arranged. The minister emphasized the importance of supporting children from frontline areas, noting that by 2025, around 10,000 children from these territories had already participated in rehabilitation programs. The total volume of international support for the Sumy region last year amounted to approximately 2.3 billion UAH.

Support for the military and medical initiatives

During the visit, the minister also handed over drones and quadcopters to the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade. This was part of his efforts to support the military, as more than a third of the patients at the Sumy Regional Clinical Hospital are military personnel. Andrii Sybiga supported the initiative of the 'Flame of Life' hospital aimed at improving medical services.

During the visit, the minister conducted telephone negotiations with the foreign ministers of Cyprus, Switzerland, and France. He noted:

'For me, it is fundamentally important that diplomacy is not just a set of abstract euphemisms but a systematic process that leads to specific decisions and real assistance to specific people.' Andrii Sybiga

Sybiga also highlighted the importance of medical projects, stating: 'We are not just talking about a medical project, but about a strategic investment. Ukraine is already creating treatment standards for war injuries that, unfortunately, the world may need.' The minister emphasized that such initiatives are not just protocol conversations, but also a confirmation that diplomacy should be a matter of and for the people.

Andrii Sybiga's visit to the Sumy region underscores the relevance of humanitarian assistance and support for children in frontline areas affected by armed conflict. The focus on medical projects and rehabilitation programs indicates a growing attention to the needs of those affected and military personnel, which is an important direction for improving the quality of life in Ukraine. The diplomatic negotiations conducted during the visit also indicate Ukraine's efforts to strengthen international ties and garner support from other states.
