The National Barrier-Free Map Launched: How It Will Work for Ukrainians
Participation in the conference "Concerned: Intersectoral Partnerships in Ukraine" was an important event for the Deputy Minister for Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine in digital development, Andriy Bratus. Together with representatives from the state, business, and civil society, they discussed practical solutions and created partnerships for the further development of the country.
During the conference, the Ministry of Development and the public organization "LUN City" presented the first results of their cooperation on creating a national Barrier-Free Map. This initiative, which began in May 2025, has already enabled the launch of the first nationwide digital platform, showcasing over 70 thousand objects for the public.
The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine has developed five universal accessibility assessment checklists and conducted training for specialists and workshops for state companies. The "LUN City" team is also working on the digitalization of barrier-free routes in 15 pilot communities to facilitate access to information for citizens.
As a result, cooperation in the field of barrier-free development allows for the formation of a new culture of creating a safe and accessible environment for all citizens and promotes further digitalization of the country.
