The Ministry of Social Policy launches a new model of support for veterans and people with disabilities
According to Міністерство соц. політики: A National Forum on the rights of people with disabilities took place in Kyiv, where discussions focused on how to improve the support system for this category of citizens. Deputy Minister of Social Policy Inna Solodka emphasized the importance of developing human resources in the field of social services and preparing specialists who work with veterans and people with traumatic experiences.
Solodka expressed a positive attitude towards the comprehensive services provided in resilience centers, including psychological assistance, employment, life skills development, and support for veterans' families. This approach contributes to the quality of services and the successful reintegration of military personnel into society.
“When veterans provide social services to other veterans - it works as peer-to-peer social service. It creates trust and ensures genuine, effective support,” concluded Inna Solodka.
Action Plan for Inclusive Recovery
During the forum, an action plan for inclusive recovery was presented, aimed at ensuring accessibility, expanding social services, and creating conditions for equal participation of each person in community life.
The National Forum highlighted the importance of supporting veterans and people with disabilities, which is an essential step in creating a society where everyone can explore their potential and engage in communal life on equal terms.
