Mobile Units of Ukraine's State Migration Service in Action

According to Державна міграційна служба: To support citizens living under difficult conditions near the front lines, mobile teams from Ukraine's State Migration Service (SMS) are actively providing administrative services. In the past week alone, these units delivered over 150 services across the Kherson, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions. This vital work ensures access to essential documentation for residents in areas heavily impacted by the ongoing conflict.

Breakdown of Mobile Team Operations

In Kherson Oblast, mobile teams made three trips to the villages of Myrolyubivka, Novovoskresenske, and Pravdyne. There, they accepted 18 applications for ID cards and 21 for international passports, ultimately issuing 17 ID cards and 21 passports.

In Kharkiv Oblast, a mobile SMS unit returned for a second visit to the village of Velyka Babka in the Chuhuiv district. The team processed 13 applications for biometric documents, which included:

  • 2 applications for ID cards,
  • 9 applications for international passports,
  • 2 applications for the simultaneous processing of both documents.

Additionally, 19 residents received consultations on document procedures.

In Sumy Oblast, 17 citizens utilized the mobile services, with the following results:

  • 4 individuals received ID cards,
  • 2 individuals received international passports,
  • 1 citizen applied for both passports simultaneously.

Mykolaiv Oblast also received support, with a mobile team making its fourth visit to the Kutsurub community and the villages of Ivanivka and Dmytrivka. During this visit, the team issued:

  • 17 ID cards,
  • 7 international passports,
  • and processed 8 ID cards and 12 international passports, 3 of which were issued through the simultaneous processing procedure.

Consequently, the work of the SMS mobile groups serves as a crucial element of civilian support in frontline areas, facilitating access to administrative services under challenging circumstances.

This initiative is particularly significant during wartime, when many people lose essential documents due to evacuation or the destruction of infrastructure. By deploying mobile teams, the state helps citizens obtain ID cards and passports more quickly, which are vital for safeguarding their rights and opportunities under current conditions.

Such measures also demonstrate the state's ongoing efforts to assist populations confronting the severe challenges of war.
