Russian military and violators may gain access to the World Championship
According to glavcom.ua: Israeli athletes can calmly prepare for upcoming international competitions as the International Olympic Committee has confirmed that their athletes will not be excluded due to the conflict in the region. As members of the Olympic Charter, Israel and Palestine have equal rights to participate in sports competitions, claims the IOC.
«The national Olympic committees of Israel and Palestine are recognized by the IOC and have equal rights. Both adhere to the Olympic Charter. We continue to work with them to try to mitigate the impact of the current conflict on athletes,» the IOC reported.
It is also worth noting that Russian weightlifters and military personnel who trained in occupied Crimea may have the opportunity to participate in international competitions next year. This was confirmed by the decision on their admission in a neutral status after their prior exclusion due to the military conflict in 2022.
Thus, the situation regarding the participation of Israeli athletes in international competitions is resolved, and Russian athletes and military can also expect to participate in upcoming competitions.
